A moodier set of portraits as the snow is finally disappearing from our forests.
Just about a month ago, I hosted my first workshop ever!
Eli is a 2018 senior at L'Anse High School. His session took us to their family's beach cottage on Second Sands as well as surrounding locations in the Pequaming area.
Adeline traveled from Owosso to have her senior photos taken in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where spent a great deal of her summers while growing up. From her grandparent's wooded property to the shoreline of Lake Superior, Adeline chose locations near and dear to her heart.
Meet the exquisite Megan. I've had the honor of photographing her sister's senior photos as well as her family's photos in the past.
The weather took a dreary shift on the day of Megan's session, but the heightened humidity gradually brought out Megan's natural curls in the best possible way. As a person with naturally-wavy-occasionally-loosely-curly hair myself, I also get the struggle of trying to maintain straightened hair on a rainy day, but the changing textures during Megan's shoot was absolutely gorgeous!!! I like to think rainy photoshoots in general tend to turn into some of my favorites... so don't fret the weather. There's nothing wrong with embracing the unpredictable.
My fav frames from Megan's shoot around Keweenaw Bay + Baraga:
p.s. this railroad bridge is 100% not in operation + kind of perfect
